Rescan Plugin for VMware VI Client

We will discontinue the development of our freeware Rescan Plugin, effective April 30, 2009, as it will not be compatible with VMware’s next generation virtual infrastructure management vSphere. E-Mail support for the Rescan Plugin will be available until May 30, 2009. If you do not plan to migrate your infrastructure to vSphere, you may continue using the Rescan Plugin.

Rescan HBAs is one of the many features (pre-packed scripts) of icomasoft® VI PowerScripter Professional.

Can I upgrade the Rescan Plugin to VI PowerScripter Professional?
No, you will have to deinstall Rescan and install VI PowerScripter Professional.

How do I rescan HBAs with VI PowerScripter?

As with the Rescan-Plug, you right-click on the desired host, folder or cluster, which brings up the context menu.
Instead clicking on Rescan, click PowerScripter Hosts and then select Rescan SAN.

icomasoft® provides you a simple VMware VI Client plugin (VirtualCenter and ESX Host support) for automating the Rescan/Refresh SAN Task of VMware ESX Hosts.

Just right-click on a Host or Group object (Cluster, DataCenter) and choose rescan – done.

Don´t need to script a rescan process or even manually rescan all your hosts. That´s the best way for not getting into trouble with missing Datastore mappings because of a forgotten Rescan – and losing virtual machines because of a host downtime within a HA Cluster.
