What is PowerScripter Scheduler Service

Until today there is no possibility to create custom scheduling tasks within VMware VirtualCenter. But, that´s Nr. 1 requirements we get back from a survey.
It´s no question that scheduling custom scripts is very useful and people are able to do their regulary jobs automatically.

The PowerScripter Scheduler enables to schedule custom PowerScripter or PowerShell scripts by using the VMware VirtualCenter scheduler. So we don´t provide a scheduler service by our self but using the VMware VirtualCenter scheduled task function. Our service must be installed on a system with a connection to the VirtualCenter Server (could also be the VirtualCenter server itself) is just the scheduled task controller and provides the authentification to the VirtualCenter Service.

The rights of the user our service is running with, are limiting the access to the network and to services like VMware VirtualCenter.

Some examples what can be done with the scheduler:

regular backup of virtual machines
regular reports of vm or host configuration
daily rescan SAN
weekly vm configuration dump for billing and chargeback
......... so many more
